Spring Fever

It tends to happen around this time of year. Especially if I’m not afforded the opportunity to travel. Spring fever, cabin fever, whichever you prefer to call it. I’m dying for spring temperatures, melting snow and the tides of change. This is the time that I start about “refreshing” my look or “reinventing” myself to a degree. A fresh hairstyle, new clothes, etc. I just have to wait until all the shops are open after this second lockdown.

I’ve got an email in to a tattoo artist, so I can get a new tat. I currently have five and want at least one more – for now. Those of you who have them, know how addictive it can be to get new ones. Yes, they all have meaning to me. Yes, I know what they’ll look like when I get older. No, they aren’t something I regret. I love them all! My husband used to give me a hard time when I told him that I wanted them – until he got one of his own (bigger than any of mine, I might add); now he just accepts it.

I’m always doing something different with my hair. It’s a bit of a giggle when I go to the salon. What are we doing today? I’ve gone from hair almost to my waist to a pixie cut. I’ve done red, brown, blonde, ultra blonde. I’ve done short, long, curly and straight. It’s hair! It’s constantly growing. And I get bored. I was growing out a short cut in anticipation to my fall trip to the Mediterranean; so I could put it up in a pony tail. But that’s been postponed at least a year, so I’m thinking of the bob in the picture. Once I add highlights, of course.

This makes me happy. This counters the blues left for the next 4/5 weeks of winter. We have a major snowstorm on the way. At this point, it’s inevitable. Spring is on the way, if we can survive the next little while and the 14 to 18″ of snow that’s coming in the next day or so. Now, to hurry this lockdown along…I have plans.
